One of the best things about the *Big Bus like we have is the relative small size. Nose to tail we are just and inch or two longer than a Ford or Toyota and even including our spare on the back we are shorter than one model of Chevy Silverado. We can park in most spots and even parallel park in many spots. Thank goodness for a camera in the rear!
Thinking small is more than just about the exterior. Inside your camper you can store 6 or 8 mandatory spices in a flat tupperware. The same with some kitchen tools, toothpicks, and snacks. Those 100 calories packs are perfect for life on the road. Just the other day I saw a square dining set at Target. Talk about an easy fit into the cabinets!
With a 4cf refrigerator you have to get creative also. We use it mainly for left-overs and vegetables. We carry drinks, etc. in a cooler located in the rear. When we did the floorplan we left an area in the rear for coolers, firewood, etc. We stop often while on the road at local farmer’s markets, produce stands and kids selling lemonade!
Even the music is small. I’ve got over 3,000 songs on my Zune which replaces a lot of Cd’s and plays through the radio using Bluetooth. The Sprinter cab area has made great use of space with extra compartments and hidden tools.
* We call it the Big Bus as the predecessors were a string or gaggle of Eurovans all called the Bus.
